Sweet Score Thursday on Friday (oops...)!

I finished the makeover on the Geisha bust that I posted last Thursday! I was going to paint her Day of the Dead style, but in the end, decided to keep her alive and pretty. ;) I used paper clay to fill in her imperfections and eyes (since I wanted to paint them closed), primed the entire piece, and painted her. She has butterflies floating up her neck, and a little pearl earring. :) What do ya think?

My feature find for this week is this jewelry chest, made from solid wood and hand crafted. Love it! It's so pretty now, I'm wrestling with painting over it. On the other hand, one of its feet is broken, and it does need some restorative love. It measures 18" tall. How much you ask? $4.89, my friends! :)

This piece will be a pretty involved project, with sanding off old paint, sawing off the feet, then replacing the feet. That's all before priming and painting...phew! I'll post pics when I get it done, though!

The geisha looks amazing and truly shows off how versatile you are with your art!

Can't wait to see what you do with the mini-wardrobe!

Yay, you fixed her kind of freaky, diabolical stare! Wonderful.

I love what you did with the Geisha, Leila! I think you restored the "real her" just longing to be made over into the real wild woman that she is ;) I think your gorgeous "wardrobe" will lead you to Narnia, can't wait to see what you do with it.

I absolutely LOVE her! I tend to say that a lot here, I know, but it's always true! That little wardrobe is going to be wonderful, as well, I can tell already! Have fun!
