This is the second "recycled" cupboard door I've painted, and I've really been enjoying this new medium. I love the space to paint bigger, and also the raised trim that's perfect for a painted border. I just got some solid oak doors from a man off Craig's List (very cool resource) today, and I think I'll be painting doors instead of plaques for awhile.
I've been doing so many traditional tattoo/Day of the Dead pieces, that I thought it would be refreshing to do a Japanese inspired piece. It's a little sexier than most of my work, but I love the contrast of the rugged dragon with the soft geisha.
